A better grid doesn't mean a perfect one.
Much of Lekki now sits on Band A feeders, with EKEDC required to deliver 20+ hours of supply a day. That's real progress — but voltage fluctuations, transformer faults and unplanned maintenance still happen, and they still damage appliances and interrupt AC, pumps and security systems. A battery bank protects against the gaps a "good" grid still has.
